My most recent series explored This Land We Share, in a collaboration with photographer and naturalist, Rick O'Neil, and shishahl artist and cultural leader, Candace Campo.
The images moved from Rick's direct experiences on the land with the grizzlies captured in his lens... through the motions of my paint brush that mixed in perspectives of reconciliation ... to Candace's lines and colours of the spirit world from the aboriginal way of knowing.
Our show invited the possibility of taking our perspectives farther along a journey of transformation. An entry in to different points of view. This is the conversation of This Land We Share for both our natural environment and our nation.
The talking circle that closed our show at the end of the Art Crawl gave opportunity to both heart and voice to share and move forward towards recreating who we are as a community and nation.
